Contactor

Electromechanical switching component used for repeatedly establishing and interrupting an electrical power circuit. It operates via an internal electromagnetic coil that, when energized, pulls a set of heavy-duty contacts together to allow current flow to high-power loads. When power to the coil is cut, a spring mechanism swiftly opens the contacts to safely disconnect the circuit.
